Bhopal, Sept. 22 -- The Madhya Pradesh government on Tuesday signed an MoU with the Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Gandhinagar, to train and develop the skills of officers and employees of the state Police and Jail Headquarters in cyber security and related fields.
The MoU was exchanged in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav at the state Secretariat. A separate relationship agreement was also signed between the RRU and Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bhopal, for the smooth functioning and coordination of the university's Bhopal campus.
CM Yadav said the rapid expansion of digital systems had brought new challenges, making greater vigilance and specialised expertise in cyber security and digital forensics essential. Education, training and research in these areas would help ensure that digital systems continued to serve public welfare, he said.
Training programmes for police and prison personnel under the MoU are expected to begin shortly. The CM said the RRU's establishment at Gandhinagar, on the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was an important step towards strengthening capabilities in the cyber and forensic sectors.
The RRU was established by the Union Home Ministry in 2020. It has regional campuses in seven states and has trained around 40,000 personnel so far.
