Bhopal, Aug. 5 -- Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday urged students to use artificial intelligence (AI) responsibly, saying it should complement-not replace-critical thinking.
Interacting with students and teachers at the Kamla Nehru Sandipani Government Girls' School in Bhopal, Yadav said hard work, discipline and self-confidence were the keys to success and described students as the driving force behind India's goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
The interaction turned to technology when a student asked whether he used ChatGPT. Yadav said he uses AI tools to gather updated information for speeches and public programmes but stressed that such platforms should not be treated as the final authority.
'Whether it is ChatGPT, Grok or any other AI tool, use it, but also apply your own mind and always cross-check facts and data,' he said.
Asked about social media, the Chief Minister said he uses Instagram as part of public outreach and follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the platform.
Calling the current generation the country's 'Amrit Peedhi', Yadav urged students to dream big and work hard, assuring them that the state government would support their aspirations.
Recalling his own education in a government school, he said India's progress depends not only on economic growth but also on knowledge, values and discipline.
He also encouraged students to read beyond textbooks, pursue lifelong learning and maintain a balanced routine that includes sports, self-study and reflection.
Highlighting the state's education initiatives, Yadav said 274 Sandipani schools under the School Education Department and 94 under the Tribal Affairs Department are operational. The government plans to add 200 more Sandipani schools under the School Education
Department and 205 under the Tribal Affairs Department in the next phase.
During the visit, the Chief Minister inspected classrooms, laboratories, the library and other facilities and interacted with members of the school's student-run 'Bal Cabinet', which oversees activities related to sports, culture and discipline.
In a separate interaction with teachers, Yadav said education should be employment-oriented and encourage students to pursue careers in agriculture, entrepreneurship, the armed forces and public service.
Concluding the programme, he urged students to contribute towards building a developed Madhya Pradesh and India by 2047, saying the generation marking the centenary of Independence would play a decisive role in shaping the nation's future.
