Kolkata, May 25 -- Metro Railway Kolkata is now operating six direct weekday services and four Saturday services between Jai Hind Bimanbandar (airport) station on the Yellow Line and Shahid Khudiram station on the Blue Line, apart from three direct Sunday services between the airport station and Dakshineswar.

According to the schedule, six direct weekday services from Jai Hind Bimanbandar to Shahid Khudiram are operating at 8.17 am, 8.47 am, 8.59 am, 9.23 am, 4.36 pm and 9 pm.

On Saturdays, four direct services are operating from the airport station to Shahid Khudiram at 8 am, 8.35 am, 8.55 am and 9 pm. Though there is no direct service to Shahid Khudiram on Sundays, Metro is operating three direct Sunday services from Jai Hind Bimanbandar to Dakshineswar at 10.36 am, 4.17 pm and 5.11 pm. The services allow passengers travelling from the airport corridor to continue towards the North-South corridor without changing trains at Noapara.

Metro Railway had first introduced two direct services between Jai Hind Bimanbandar and Shahid Khudiram on December 15, 2025, on an experimental basis to reduce interchange congestion at Noapara and provide seamless connectivity for airport passengers travelling towards central and south Kolkata.

Metro had subsequently announced on January 7 an increase in the number of direct weekday services from two to five with effect from January 8, 2026, by adding three more trains. However, the expansion plan was rolled back hours later citing operational reasons.

The present revised schedule has gradually increased the number of weekday direct services to Shahid Khudiram to six, extended the arrangement to Saturdays and introduced direct Sunday services to Dakshineswar.
