Bhopal, Oct. 12 -- The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet on Monday passed a special resolution expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 25 years in public life as Gujarat Chief Minister and Prime Minister, with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav highlighting his government's achievements in welfare, infrastructure, national security and technological advancement.

Addressing a press conference after the Cabinet meeting, CM Yadav highlighted the Centre's welfare initiatives. Yadav described the provision of free foodgrains to more than 80 crore people as a remarkable achievement. "It may sound like an exaggeration, but it is a reality," he said, adding that such large-scale free ration distribution was unprecedented in its reach.

Deputy CMs Jagdish Devda and Rajendra Shukla were present during the PC.

Yadav recalled that he was participating in a live TV debate when demonetisation was announced and, worried about fuel for his onward journey, asked his associate to refuel the vehicle before the old notes became invalid.

Yadav cited GST, the abrogation of Article 370, surgical strikes, the Balakot airstrike and Operation Sindoor among key decisions, while highlighting welfare schemes such as Jan Dhan, Mudra, Ayushman Bharat, PM Awas, Ujjwala and Jal Jeevan Mission, alongside the growth of UPI-based digital payments.

Yadav highlighted the Ken-Betwa and Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal river-linking projects, Bhopal and Indore metros, wildlife conservation and renewable energy. He said the 2,000-MW Gandhi Sagar pumped-storage and hydropower project aims to commission its first turbine in December and all eight by March.

On social welfare, he said more than 65 lakh women in the state were associated with self-help groups. He also announced that recruitment for around one lakh additional government posts would be pursued after 85,000 posts were filled last year.

Yadav highlighted Madhya Pradesh's 2047 development goals, the proposed Uniform Civil Code, youth employment and women's political participation, describing Modi's 25-year public journey as a period of change in governance, infrastructure, technology and national security.
