New Delhi, Sept. 17 -- Delhi minister Ashish Sood on Thursday led a series of public service and community initiatives in the city to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday and 25 years of public leadership.
Sood participated in a mega blood donation camp at Thyagraj Stadium, describing blood donation as "a vital act of service" and urging people to donate blood and "strengthen the spirit of service". At the Delhi Secretariat, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Sood launched two campaign songs for the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' in the presence of 250 school students. One song was prepared and sung by Delhi government school students, while the other was composed by a group of Delhi youth involved in music training.
In the evening, Sood joined students and teachers at CM Shri School, Sarojini Nagar, where participants created and lit symbolic earthen lamps as part of the 'Aashirwad Ka Diya' ceremony, offering prayers for Modi's health and continued leadership.
Sood also inspected civic works at Pankha Road in his Janakpuri constituency and lit the symbolic lamp with local residents. The area, which had earlier faced waterlogging, dirty water and silt accumulation, has undergone drainage desilting, boundary wall construction and development of a park with walking tracks.
"Transforming long-standing civic problems into clean, usable public spaces for our residents is the best way to honour Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's vision of Seva and Swachhata," Sood said.
