New Delhi,, Sept. 24 -- The Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Thursday reviewed healthcare facilities and infrastructure at Hindu Rao Hospital and Rajan Babu Hospital, with senior civic officials directing improvements in patient amenities, cleanliness and hospital infrastructure.
At Hindu Rao Hospital, Mayor Pravesh Wahi inspected the OPD block, wards, Paediatric Emergency Block, ICU and Labour Room and interacted with patients about their treatment and the availability of medicines. He directed officials to ensure timely availability of essential medicines and improve cleanliness across the hospital.
The Mayor also reviewed ongoing infrastructure works, including the upgradation of the Labour Room and Paediatric Emergency Block. The ICU, which currently has eight beds, is being expanded to 18 beds.
The civic body is also planning to replace the hospital's old and dilapidated Residence Block with a new Ward Block of about 200 beds. A separate plan is being considered to relocate the Residence Block to the site of the existing Laundry Block after its removal.
During the inspection, Wahi directed officials to install LED lights in wards, repair broken benches and undertake repairs to roads within the hospital premises. He said the corporation would continue efforts to strengthen medical infrastructure and patient services.
At Rajan Babu Hospital, Leader of the House Jai Bhagwan Yadav inspected the bronchoscopy and ultrasound rooms, laboratory, kitchen, general ward and Kingsway Chest Centre. He interacted with patients and directed officials to improve cleanliness and clear garbage from isolated spots.
Yadav also instructed the maintenance and electrical departments to rectify loose and hanging wires and called for adequate ministerial staff to ensure smooth functioning of the hospital. He directed that trees on the premises be pruned and inspected food items and their expiry dates in the hospital kitchen.
