India, June 24 -- The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Tuesday carried out a special enforcement drive against illegal dairy activities and unauthorised cattle rearing in parts of the Keshav Puram Zone, as part of its continued efforts to improve sanitation and enforce municipal regulations. The action was undertaken by the Veterinary Services Department in areas along the Haiderpur Canal near Shalimar Bagh and the NSP locality near Shakurpur K-Block. According to officials, the drive targeted illegal dairy establishments operating in violation of civic norms and posing challenges to public health and urban cleanliness. The enforcement exercise was conducted jointly by the Veterinary Services Departments of Keshav Puram Zone and Rohini Zone, reflecting coordinated action to curb unauthorised dairy operations across the city. As part of the crackdown, civic authorities seized two motorcycles and several milk drums believed to have been used in connection with the illegal dairy activity. In addition, a total of 11 animals were impounded, including six calves and five cattle. MCD officials said such drives would continue in areas where illegal dairy operations are reported. The civic body reiterated its commitment to ensuring adherence to municipal regulations and maintaining public hygiene standards.
