New Delh, Aug. 27 -- The Municipal Corporation of Delhi's committee system is set for a change in leadership, with councillors filing nominations on Thursday for the posts of Chairpersons and Deputy Chairpersons of its statutory, special and ad hoc committees.
The nominations were filed at the Municipal Secretary's office at the Civic Centre on the last day of the process. Mayor Pravesh Wahi, Deputy Mayor Monika Pant and Leader of the House Jai Bhagwan Yadav were present. The elections will be held during the first meetings of the committees on September 2 and 3.
The nominations bring together experienced councillors and younger members across key civic portfolios. Senior councillor Mukesh Kumar Goel has been nominated as Chairperson of the Appointments, Promotions, Disciplinary and Allied Matters Committee, with Reena Maheshwari as Deputy Chairperson.
For the Works Committee, Preeti and Dharamvir Sharma have been nominated, while Vikesh Sethi and Ramesh Kumar Garg have been proposed for the Medical Relief and Public Health Committee. Sandeep Kapoor and Anita will head the Environment Management Services Committee if elected, while Narender Kumar Singh and Veena Asija have been nominated for the Garden Committee.
