India, May 12 -- Municipal Corporation of Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi on Monday conducted an extensive inspection of the Badli area in the Civil Lines Zone and expressed strong displeasure over poor sanitation conditions, unattended debris, and garbage accumulation in several localities. Accompanied by senior civic officials, the Mayor visited multiple spots in the area, interacted with residents, and directed authorities to resolve public grievances on priority. Taking serious note of the deteriorating sanitation conditions, Wahi reprimanded officials and sanitation staff, warning that negligence in maintaining cleanliness and civic services would not be tolerated. In a symbolic gesture aimed at stressing accountability, the Mayor personally supervised debris removal operations and also picked up garbage during the inspection. He directed sanitation workers to immediately begin cleaning operations and ensure timely removal of waste and debris from the locality. Wahi also interacted with traders and shopkeepers, urging them to place dustbins outside their establishments and cooperate in maintaining cleanliness. He said making Delhi clean was a shared responsibility between civic authorities and citizens. Among those present during the inspection were MLA Deepak Chaudhary, councillor Gayatri Yadav, and Deputy Commissioner Shashi Pratap Singh, along with senior MCD officials.
