India, July 13 -- Delhi Police have arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with a gunpoint robbery in East Delhi's Gandhi Nagar and recovered a newly purchased motorcycle allegedly bought using the stolen money. According to police, the robbery took place on July 10 after Ashish Sarin, a collection executive with S.D. Enterprise, had collected around Rs 16.5 lakh from various business establishments. At about 4 pm, after reaching outside his office and unloading the cash bag from his Honda Activa, two armed men arrived on a scooter. One was wearing a helmet while the other had covered his face with a mask. They allegedly threatened Sarin at gunpoint, snatched the bag containing the cash, his Aadhaar card and bank passbook, and fled. Also Read - Vinod Nagar: Constable shoots wife dead on her birthday, flees Following the registration of an FIR under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Gandhi Nagar Police Station, a special investigation team launched a probe. Although the suspects had removed the scooter's rear number plate, investigators identified the vehicle through CCTV footage capturing its front registration number and technical surveillance. Police arrested Alfaid (22), who allegedly revealed that co-accused Ashu planned the robbery and supplied firearms, while Krishna also took part. Police recovered Rs 2.5 lakh, the scooter used in the crime and a motorcycle allegedly bought with the stolen money.
