India, July 28 -- Gurugram Police have arrested a 39-year-old man for allegedly cheating a person of several lakhs on the pretext of sending him to Slovakia, officials said on Monday. The accused, Deepak, a resident of Rewari district, was arrested by the Crime Branch from Gurugram on Sunday following a complaint lodged at the DLF Sector-29 police station. According to police, the victim initially paid Rs 50,000 for visa and travel formalities. The accused later allegedly showed the victim a forged visa and extracted another Rs 2 lakh. Police said co-accused Shailesh was arrested earlier, with Rs 2 lakh recovered, and further investigation is underway.
