NEW DELHI, May 21 -- A 30-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his brother-in-law near Burari Metro Station in north Delhi following a matrimonial dispute, police said on Thursday.

The accused, identified as Jitender Kumar from Bihar's Sheikhpura district, allegedly killed Raja Kumar, a resident of Jharoda Majra, by repeatedly attacking him with a stone before dumping the body in a pit near a pipeline area close to the metro station.

Police said the murder was linked to long-standing domestic tensions involving the accused and his wife, who had been staying with the victim's family for the past month due to marital issues.

According to investigators, an argument broke out on May 10 when Jitender visited the house to meet his wife. During the altercation, Raja allegedly slapped him. Later, Raja accompanied Jitender to Burari Metro Station on a scooty but never returned home.

Police recovered the partially decomposed body on May 13 following a PCR call. During interrogation, Jitender allegedly confessed to the crime, claiming he acted out of anger and humiliation. The murder weapon, scooty and clothes used during the offence have been recovered.
