Kolkata, May 25 -- TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee is expected to travel to Delhi in the first week of June to attend a key meeting of INDIA alliance leaders amid intensifying national political developments. The proposed visit is being seen as an important step towards strengthening coordination among opposition parties ahead of crucial political battles.
According to sources, discussions during the meeting are likely to focus on the alliance's future strategy, organisational coordination and the role of regional parties in shaping a united opposition platform against the BJP. Leaders from several constituent parties are expected to participate in the deliberations. After winning in Bengal, the BJP with its alliance now governs in 21 states of India posing a significant challenge for the opposition.
Mamata Banerjee has repeatedly stressed the importance of opposition unity and collective resistance against what she describes as the BJP's "authoritarian politics." Her participation in the Delhi meeting is likely to reinforce her party's commitment to the broader opposition bloc.
Political observers believe the meeting may also address issues related to Parliament strategy, joint movements on public concerns and strengthening coordination at the grassroots level across states.
Sources in the Trinamool Congress indicated that the leadership wants to maintain regular communication with alliance partners and ensure that the opposition remains united on key national issues.
The meeting is expected to draw considerable political attention, particularly as opposition parties attempt to consolidate their positions and craft a common narrative against the ruling BJP at the national level.
