Kolkata, Sept. 21 -- Just a day after several Mamata All India Trinamool Congress (MAITC) and Left party offices were allegedly vandalised in parts of south Kolkata, another MAITC office in Jadavpur was reportedly targeted, with the party alleging BJP involvement.
The incident was reported from the party office at Vidyasagar Colony No. 4, where the office was ransacked. Local party leaders alleged that outsiders entered the office and attacked party workers.
MAITC MLA Kunal Ghosh alleged: "BJP's attack is again underway in Jadavpur. This time it is the Vidyasagar No. 4 party office." He claimed outsiders had entered the office and attacked party workers.
Ghosh also questioned the absence of police and sought immediate action, alleging that such attacks were taking place repeatedly. "What is happening? Attacks every day!" he said, while alleging that the police were "sleeping".
Police have launched an investigation and are examining CCTV footage. The BJP has denied the allegation and attributed the incident to an internal MAITC dispute.
Meanwhile, similar allegations emerged from Behala East, where a MAITC office was reportedly vandalised. Local police, however, dismissed the allegation.
