Malda, Nov. 2 -- A serious allegation involving a 12-year-old schoolgirl has surfaced in Kaliachak, Malda, where a local teenager has allegedly taken her photographs without consent and subsequently circulated them on social media, triggering concern over the child's safety and privacy.

According to the girl's family, the accused allegedly took photographs of the girl while she was standing near her house. The pictures were later circulated on social media, the family claimed.

The girl reportedly suffered severe mental distress following the incident and eventually shared the matter with her mother. Seeking justice and protection for her daughter, the mother approached Kaliachak Police Station and lodged a written complaint. However, the family alleged that no effective action has been taken so far. They also claimed that the police have not provided them with a General Diary (GD) number.

The family further alleged that they were receiving threat calls and facing pressure to withdraw the complaint.

The girl's father said: "Even after the change of government, our daughter's safety remains a major concern. We demand an impartial investigation and the immediate arrest of the accused."
