Kolkata, Nov. 4 -- The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has stipulated that question papers for the Class X selection tests ahead of the 2027 Madhyamik examination must be prepared exclusively by subject teachers of the respective schools.

In a notification, the Board directed all recognised secondary schools to submit scanned copies and non-PDF versions of the question papers for all subjects to a designated email address, immediately after completion of the examinations. The papers must be sent on the same day as the respective tests.

The Board has instructed schools to ensure that all questions strictly adhere to the prescribed Class X curriculum and syllabus. No questions should be set from outside the prescribed syllabus, as this could lead to controversy or embarrassment and tarnish the image of the Board and the state.

Schools have also been directed to follow the selection test schedule notified by the Board. It has prohibited collective or combined selection tests conducted by a cluster of schools, with or without the assistance of an external agency.

The notification further states that schools submitting question papers must have updated recognition status with the Board. The responsibility for the content and quality of the questions will rest entirely with the respective schools. The head of the institution (HOI) will be held accountable for any violation of the prescribed norms.
