India, July 16 -- Delhi Police has arrested two Lucknow University law students for allegedly creating a ruckus in the Supreme Court and disrupting the proceedings of the country's highest judiciary institution on the grounds of the Chief Justice of India. An FIR has been registered at Tilak Marg Police Station in this regard with sections 132, 221, 224 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other relevant sections. According to the police, the incident occurred on July 10, inside Court No. 13 while hearing SLP No. 31367/2026, Prabal Pratap & Another vs State of Uttar Pradesh. The main accused in this case is Prabal Pratap Singh (24), a third-year law student of Lucknow University and a resident of Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, who appeared in the court as a petitioner-in-person.Police alleged that he created chaos in the court by using obscene and abusive language. Moreover, he allegedly threw papers at the court and created a disturbance. When Supreme Court security personnel tried to control him, he allegedly attacked them physically and prevented them from doing their duty. Chander Bhan (23), a second-year law student of Lucknow University and a resident of Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh is the second accused in this case. After observing comments made by these law students, the Supreme Court sent them to the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS) for a medical examination, which concluded that they do not need psychiatric intervention.
