Malda, July 10 -- In a major infrastructure boost for Manikchak, the process of establishing a new fire station moved a step forward on Friday as officials completed the final-stage land inspection and identification. The proposed fire station will be set up at Nimtali in Niranjanpur Mouza, located between Mathurapur and Nazirpur.
Manikchak MLA Gaur Chandra Mondal, along with Block Development Officer Sourav Mondal, Malda Fire Station official S. Barman and other officials, visited the site and identified the land for the project. The team also initiated the process of preparing the necessary documents required before construction begins.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Gaur Chandra Mondal said: "We had promised the people of Manikchak that a fire station would be established here, and today we have fulfilled the first major step towards that commitment. The project will significantly improve emergency response services and ensure faster assistance during fire and disaster situations."
He further announced that a power substation is also proposed to be developed at the same location. "Along with the fire station, we are planning to set up an electricity power station here to strengthen the region's infrastructure and support future development," Mondal said.
The proposed fire station is expected to greatly benefit residents of Manikchak and nearby areas by reducing response time during emergencies.
