New Delhi, Sept. 19 -- Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Saturday heard grievances of residents during a Jan Sunwai organised at the Maurya Enclave police station in northwest Delhi, officials said.
During the interaction, residents and complainants raised issues related to parking, traffic congestion, family disputes and matters concerning civic agencies, they said. Sandhu directed the concerned officers to examine the grievances promptly and take appropriate action as per law, officials said.
The Jan Sunwai was organised to provide citizens a platform to raise their concerns directly with the police and facilitate timely redressal, they said. The L-G also inspected the Maurya Enclave police station and reviewed its functioning and working arrangements. He interacted with police personnel and emphasised discipline, professionalism, prompt response to citizens' concerns and a citizen-centric approach in public dealing, officials said. He also stressed the need to strengthen coordination and trust between the police and the public and ensure efficient delivery of police services, they added.
