New Delhi, Oct. 2 -- Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) Chairman Manoj Goyal on Thursday launched a nationwide special discount sale on Khadi and village industry products on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
Goyal purchased Khadi products at Gramodyog Bhawan and Gram Shilpa Emporium in New Delhi's Connaught Place and made payments through UPI. The discount campaign will run from October 2 to November 16, 2026, offering up to 20 per cent discount on Khadi products and 10 per cent on village industry products.
Goyal said KVIC was working to take the 'Har Ghar Swadeshi, Ghar-Ghar Swadeshi' and 'Vocal for Local' messages to the masses and Gen-Z. He said Khadi had become a means to promote Atmanirbhar Bharat, Local to Global and Developed India-2047.
According to Goyal, the Khadi and Village Industries sector recorded turnover of over Rs 1.87 lakh crore in 2025-26 while more than 2.04 crore people are getting employment through this sector.
He expressed confidence of achieving the Rs 2.51 lakh crore turnover target in the coming years.
