Kolkata, Sept. 17 -- TMC MLA Kunal Ghosh appeared at Barasat Police Station on Thursday in response to a summons issued over a complaint filed by NCPI MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, who had alleged harassment and humiliation of her and her family on social media.
Police registered an FIR after Dastidar approached the Chief Minister and asked Ghosh to appear within seven days.
Ghosh called the allegations baseless, saying he could not be held responsible for others' social media comments and accusing police of "wasting their time" over such posts.
Ghosh said the investigating officer showed him a post in which he had neither named nor identified anyone. He carried parliamentary dictionaries to establish that he had used no unparliamentary language.
Later, Ghosh questioned why Dastidar was "still outside" despite the Narada sting controversy. He said he would write to the CBI over her alleged role in the case and described her complaint as politically motivated.
Ghosh also alleged misuse of government infrastructure at SSKM Hospital for commercial purposes, saying he would visit the hospital, seek details and demand an investigation.
