Kolkata, Sept. 4 -- Lumino Industries, a Kolkata-based company, made its debut on the stock exchanges with a market capitalisation of approximately Rs 3,360 crore at listing.
Many feel this is a positive development for Bengal's corporate and industrial ecosystem, with hopes that more Kolkata-based companies will follow the IPO route in the coming years. This latest development also highlights the growing potential of Kolkata-based businesses to access public markets and create greater opportunities for investment and expansion.
Incidentally, the BJP government plans an MSME conclave for the coal town of Pandaveswar in West Burdwan amid a renewed focus on industrialisation.
The event, scheduled for September 27, follows a similar industrial push in Durgapur recently.
Meanwhile, state Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta recently said a single "iconic" investment in Bengal could restore investor confidence, set the state on the path to industrial revival and revive its industrial legacy.
