New Delhi, Sept. 19 -- On a day when Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union minister Jitendra Singh virtually saw the distribution of more than 51,000 appointment letters, Kolkata hosted two Rozgar Mela camps.

Union ministers Sukanta Majumdar and Shantanu Thakur distributed appointment letters to newly recruited candidates and stressed the role of youth in public service. At the Income Tax Department's Kolkata office, Union Minister of State for Education and DoNER Sukanta Majumdar urged the new recruits to embrace continuous learning and uphold integrity in government service. Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, West Bengal & Sikkim, Surabhi Varma Garg, said the latest tranche was being organised simultaneously at 45 locations across the country, with around 51,000 appointment letters being distributed.
