Kolkata, Oct. 28 -- Five IndiGo flights to and from Kolkata were cancelled on Tuesday amid adverse weather and operational constraints linked to Severe Cyclonic Storm 'Arnab', according to information issued by the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

According to AAI data, the cancellations affected three incoming flights and two departures at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. The services were withdrawn as a safety precaution in view of gusty winds, inclement weather and the cyclone's impact across coastal regions and connected sectors.

Among the arrivals, IndiGo flight 6E7434 from Bhubaneswar was scheduled to arrive at 5.10 pm on October 27. Flight 6E0617 from Visakhapatnam was due at 7.30 pm, while flight 6E7466 from Ranchi was scheduled to land at 8.30 pm. All three were marked cancelled in the AAI update. Two outgoing IndiGo services were also cancelled. Flight 6E0616 to Visakhapatnam was scheduled to depart at 3.45 pm, while flight 6E7465 to Ranchi was due to leave at 5.40 pm on Tuesday.

The cancellation reasons listed by the airport authorities included "cyclonic condition in the region" and "cancelled due to Arnab cyclone". All five services were listed as cancelled.

Passengers travelling on affected routes were advised to check their flight status with the respective airline before leaving for the airport, as operational decisions may change with weather conditions.

The cancellations underline the storm's impact on flight schedules connecting Kolkata with destinations in the region.
