New Delhi, Oct. 12 -- Delhi Police has filed an FIR against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and other party leaders on a complaint by the Delhi Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) over alleged ruckus at Bangla Sahib Gurdwara, sources said on Monday.
In the complaint lodged on Sunday, the DSGMC alleged that workers and supporters associated with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) entered the gurdwara premises and started protesting there, creating chaos and disturbance, thereby attempting to misuse the sanctity of 'Guru Ghar' for political activity. The complaint also said that AAP leaders and MLAs circulated videos on social media presenting a "distorted version" of the incident and blaming the gurdwara management committee. An investigation has been launched into the matter and the footage provided by the complainant is being examined to establish the sequence of events, the police sources said.
A large number of protesters gathered on the gurdwara premises on Saturday while trying to reach Jantar Mantar to join the protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. But their attempts were thwarted as they were detained by police.
