India, Aug. 24 -- In an effort to preserve social unity, brotherhood and cultural traditions across rural Delhi, a joint panchayat of Bawana 52 and Palam emphasised the need to engage with the youth and discuss social and family traditions. The highlight of the panchayat was the 'Jeevan Yagya' conducted by Deepak, a resident of Ghoga village. Palam 360 Khap chief Surender Solanki, who was also present, said preserving culture and traditions was everyone's responsibility and an important step towards social integration. "Our elders have preserved the culture, brotherhood and social traditions of Delhi's rural villages for years. Now, the youth will have to come forward, understand these traditions and their roots, and carry them forward to the next generation," he said. As part of the initiative, Solanki said Palam 360 will hold another panchayat in Ghoga village on September 6. The gathering is expected to draw participation from across Delhi's rural belt, comprising 360 villages.
