India, July 9 -- Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday inaugurated a two-day National Stakeholders Consultation organised by the state government to deliberate on Jharkhand's Vision 2050, with a focus on information technology, artificial intelligence, digital governance and emerging technologies. Soren said Jharkhand should be known "not only for its mines but also for its minds." He said the state's identity must extend beyond resources to research, beyond extraction to innovation and beyond growth to inclusive and sustainable development. The Chief Minister said equal importance must be given to research, innovation and a knowledge-based economy alongside the state's natural resources. The consultation saw participation from representatives of leading organisations, including Microsoft, Google and IBM, who shared recommendations on strengthening the state's digital ecosystem, attracting technology investments and preparing Jharkhand for future industries. During the session, the state government presented concept papers on the proposed Jharkhand AI Policy, Investment Promotion Policy, Tourism Policy, Textile Policy, JIADA Regulations and PPP Policy, inviting feedback from industry stakeholders to make them more investor-friendly and future-ready. A Business-to-Government interaction was also held to explore investment opportunities and partnerships in the identified sectors. Soren reiterated the government's commitment to developing policies that encourage investment, generate employment and accelerate inclusive growth, adding that stakeholder consultations would play a key role in shaping the state's long-term development roadmap.
