New Delhi, Sept. 7 -- A large number of people from 36 communities from villages across Delhi-NCR resolved to preserve the country's values and culture and give right direction to the youth.
Announcing the plan to organise a "Jeevan Samman Yagya'' on October 25 here at a mahapanchayat on Sunday, Surendra Solanki chairman of Palam 360 Khap chief, North India's largest Khap Panchayat, said the current generation was drifting away from culture, traditions and values, and there is a need to channel the energy of the youth in the right direction.
"The youth have immense potential, but due to over-exposure to information and its negative effects through various mediums, they often go astray in life,'' he said.
Solanki emphasised that culture, values and youth are very crucial and with the support of 36 communities, the Khap will continue to protect social values.
Solanki said that Gen-Z is going to play a decisive role in preserving culture, and with the support of youth and guidance from elders, the social fabric will become stronger and values and ethics will be further strengthened. Around 850 villages, including 360 villages of Delhi and other villages adjoining Delhi, will take part.
