New Delhi, Aug. 5 -- Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday directed officials to ensure time-bound resolution of citizens' grievances after hearing complaints related to pensions, healthcare, education, Ayushman Bharat, property disputes and regularisation during a public hearing at Jan Seva Sadan.
Reviewing cases from residents across the city, the Chief Minister instructed departments concerned to take prompt action and ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of government welfare schemes without delay. Taking serious note of complaints related to pensions, she asked officials to examine each case individually and ensure timely disbursal to eligible beneficiaries. A large number of women also attended the public hearing and thanked the Chief Minister for the Delhi Laxmi Yojana, describing it as a significant initiative for women's financial empowerment. They said the scheme had strengthened women's dignity, self-reliance and economic security.
Responding to them, Gupta reiterated her government's commitment to women's welfare and empowerment.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said, "The public hearing is not just a forum for registering complaints but a strong bridge of trust between the people and the Government." She added that the Delhi government's objective is to ensure that every citizen's grievance is heard with sensitivity, transparency and resolved within a defined timeframe.
Emphasising the importance of responsive governance, Gupta said, "Serving the people of Delhi remains the Government's highest priority." She added that the administration is committed to providing citizens with a system that is "respectful, transparent and accountable" while continuing to strengthen the public hearing mechanism for prompt grievance redressal.
According to the Chief Minister's Office, the Jan Seva Sadan public hearing covered a wide range of civic and welfare-related issues, with officials from the concerned departments directed to prioritise pending cases and ensure effective implementation of government schemes. The exercise, the government said, is aimed at improving service delivery while reinforcing public trust in the administration through regular interaction with citizens.
