Chandigarh, Oct. 12 -- Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday hit out at Congress and its INDIA bloc allies over their 'vote chori' protest, pointing out that the grand old party has been out of power in many states for decades and that it should introspect before questioning others.

Taking to X, the chief minister said Rahul Gandhi was responsible for Congress remaining out of power in many states, yet no one in the party has questioned him about the party's electoral losses.

"For decades, the Congress has been out of power in many states of India, yet no one within the Congress organisation can point a finger at Rahul...," Saini said in Hindi.

"In Tamil Nadu for 59 years, West Bengal for 49 years, Sikkim for 42 years, Uttar Pradesh for 37 years, Bihar for 36 years, Tripura for 33 years, Gujarat for 30 years, Odisha for 26 years, Nagaland for 23 years, and Maharashtra and Haryana for 12 years, the Congress has been away from power," Saini said.

Saini said that before questioning others, the Congress party should take the responsibility and introspect.

"In a democracy, the decision of the people is paramount, and blaming the system for every defeat cannot be a way to evade political accountability," he said.

"The Gandhi family and Congress leaders must certainly answer one question: if 'vote theft' is the reason behind every electoral defeat, then what is the reason for being out of power in these states for decades?" Saini said in
