Kolkata, Oct. 7 -- Former minister Indranil Sen on Wednesday appeared once again before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for another round of questioning in connection with an alleged financial irregularities case linked to Durga Puja preview shows and the sale of entry passes.
He also moved the Calcutta High Court for anticipatory bail.
As part of the investigation, the federal probe agency had conducted searches at around 15 locations, including premises linked to Sen and his office. The matter came up before Justice Tirthankar Ghosh. During the hearing, the court reportedly questioned whether passes could be sold in the name of preview shows and raised concerns over the possibility of Sen exerting influence, given his position as a former minister.
The state alleged that passes were sold for between Rs 17,000 and Rs 45,000 each.
The court directed the state to submit a flow chart detailing the alleged transactions.
