New Delhi, Sept. 1 -- An IndiGo flight from Goa to Delhi made an emergency landing at Goa airport on Tuesday after reporting an engine failure shortly after take-off.
Flight 6E 2102 departed from Goa at 9:16 am but began turning back after an issue with one of its engines was reported. Air Traffic Control (ATC) declared a full emergency around 9:30 am as the aircraft was routed back to the airport for a safe landing. The aircraft landed safely on Runway 28 at 9:51 am and was moved to Stand 6. The full emergency was terminated by ATC at 10:03 am. All passengers disembarked safely and were accommodated in the boarding area.
According to flight-tracking data, the aircraft was flying at around 14,000 feet when it turned back towards Goa from over the coast of southern Maharashtra. The flight's departure to Delhi has been rescheduled for 3:30 pm, subject to clearance of the aircraft and operational requirements. Further details about the exact nature of the engine issue were not immediately available.
