New Delhi, Sept. 3 -- The Indian Army PNG Transition Webinar 2026 was organised at Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, on Thursday under the theme "Sena Sampark - Nirantar Urja, Nirantar Suraksha" to accelerate adoption of cleaner and reliable energy solutions across Army establishments.
Organised by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) in association with the Indian Army and Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB), the programme brought together the City Gas Distribution (CGD) industry to create a coordinated roadmap for PNG adoption.
In the first phase, 41 Army establishments have been identified for PNG conversion. Letters of Understanding were signed between 8 Army Stations and 6 CGD entities, covering more than 20,000 households. The entities include BPCL, IGL, Think Gas, Torrent Gas, HPCL and CUGL.
Rahul Tandon, Business Head - Gas, BPCL, said the transition would help build a reliable, continuous and future-ready energy ecosystem. PNG infrastructure and connections are targeted for completion by end-FY27.
