
New Delhi, July 5 -- Delhi recorded its warmest July day in two years on Sunday, with the maximum temperature reaching 38.6 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal and the highest since July 11, 2024. Moderate afternoon showers brought relief to parts of the city, with Chhatarpur receiving 49 mm of rainfall till 2.30 pm, the highest in Delhi-NCR, leading to waterlogging in the area.
The IMD has issued an orange alert for Monday, forecasting a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain and temperatures between 32 and 27 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature on Sunday was 29.2 degrees Celsius, also the highest for July since 2024. Delhi's AQI remained in the 'moderate' category at 155. Weather experts expect more typical monsoon rainfall in the coming days.
