Chandigarh, Oct. 21 -- Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition, Bhupinder Singh Hooda has expressed strong objection to the privatisation of the Electricity Department.
He stated that the BJP government is working for the benefit of private companies, and privatisation of the electricity sector will further burden the public with rising costs, with farmers and the poor set to suffer the most.
Addressing a special press conference at his Delhi residence on the occasion of the BJP government completing 12 years in power.
Hooda presented an account of the government's failures, supported by facts and statistics.
He began by stating that granting a parallel license to 'Eleven Power Private Limited' for electricity distribution in revenue districts like Gurugram and Nuh would prove to be a disastrous step toward privatisation.
