New Delhi, Sept. 19 -- Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda stated that the Congress government made Haryana the country's number one state in terms of per capita income, per capita investment, job creation, government employment, honouring sportspersons, ensuring fair crop prices for farmers, respecting the elderly, women's safety, and law and order between 2005 and 2014.

However, in the last 12 years, the BJP has turned the state into the number one state for unemployment, crime, drug abuse, corruption, and debt. He noted that from the state's formation in 1966 until 2014, the total debt stood at approximately Rs 70,000 crore; under the BJP government, this figure has surged to Rs 5.50 lakh crore. During this period, the BJP government did not extend the metro line by even an inch, lay new railway tracks, establish major projects, build medical colleges, or open significant educational institutions.

"The question arises, into whose pockets did these lakhs of crores of Rupees go? The answer lies in the scams that are being exposed daily under the BJP govt," he stated.
