New Delhi, April 16 -- In a major push to align skill development with emerging industry demands, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced the launch of state-of-the-art, high-tech laboratories across four Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), aimed at equipping youth with cutting-edge technical expertise in sectors such as power electronics, electric vehicles and advanced manufacturing.
The initiative focuses on both establishing new labs and modernising existing ones to bridge the gap between classroom training and real-world industrial requirements. Emphasising the importance of industry-relevant skills, the Chief Minister said, "These modern labs will not only enhance technical capabilities but also give trainees exposure to real-world industrial practices, opening up opportunities for both employment and self-employment."
At ITI Jahangirpuri, a dedicated Power Electronics Lab will be set up with advanced systems including PLC kits, VFD trainers, solar PV kits and smart energy monitoring tools. The facility will train around 480 students across trades such as electrician, electronics
mechanic and solar technician, with a focus on automation, renewable energy and electrical systems.
Meanwhile, the welder lab at ITI Jail Road (Hari Nagar) will undergo a major upgrade with advanced welding machines, simulators and fabrication tools. The upgraded facility is expected to benefit nearly 200 trainees by providing hands-on experience in modern welding techniques, improving both precision and safety standards. At ITI Arab Ki Sarai (Nizamuddin), automotive labs will be enhanced with cutting-edge Virtual Reality simulators for training in driving, welding and painting.
