New Delhi, Sept. 4 -- Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms lashed several parts of Delhi-NCR on Friday, with dark clouds covering the skies and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a red alert for the region.
The intense spell of rain affected several parts of the national capital and neighbouring areas, bringing a noticeable drop in visibility and disrupting normal movement in some places. The IMD has warned of further heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, urging people to remain cautious as weather conditions are expected to remain unsettled. The rain comes amid continued monsoon activity over the region, with authorities keeping a close watch on the situation as the possibility of intense showers persists. Residents have been advised to stay indoors during thunderstorms and avoid unnecessary travel, particularly in areas experiencing heavy rainfall and waterlogging.
