India, July 24 -- Haryana will establish 10 new Viral Hepatitis Treatment Centres under the National Viral Hepatitis Control Programme (NVHCP), expanding the state's network from 26 to 36 centres. Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Sumita Misra, said the move will improve access to free screening, diagnosis, medicines and long-term treatment for Hepatitis B and C patients, particularly in high-burden districts. The new facilities include one at ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Faridabad, and nine at sub-divisional civil hospitals in Fatehabad, Jind, Kaithal, Karnal, Sirsa and Panipat. The Centre has approved support for all 36 treatment facilities under the NVHCP.
