India, Aug. 25 -- Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday said the state is considering a dedicated policy for the defence sector as he sought greater investment from leading investors, global investment firms and industry representatives at a roundtable conference in Mumbai. The meeting was held under the ongoing 'Happening Haryana 2.0' Global Capital Campaign, with Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh also present. Saini said the maximum number of suggestions and expressions of interest received during the interaction were related to the defence sector, highlighting its potential for manufacturing and allied industries in Haryana. A manufacturing cluster is being developed alongside Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar. Another industrial cluster is planned in the Haryana region near Jewar Airport. The Chief Minister said the state had announced 10 new Industrial Model Townships (IMTs) in the last Budget, with work related to land for these projects progressing. Seeking to make Haryana a trusted and investor-friendly destination, Saini said the government would work on suggestions received from investors and convert them into time-bound action plans, with clear departmental responsibility wherever required. Saini invited companies exploring expansion, manufacturing, Global Capability Centres, technology and logistics opportunities to engage with the state government. He said Haryana wanted to build long-term partnerships with industry rather than merely attract investments. The government is also working to link ITIs and polytechnic institutions with industries through MoUs so that young people can receive training aligned with industry requirements, he said. Saini invited investors and their leadership teams to participate in the Happening Haryana Global Investor Summit scheduled to be held in the state in April 2027.
