Gurugram, Sept. 14 -- A woman biker in Gurugram alleged that a car repeatedly followed her before hitting her motorcycle on Golf Course Road and fleeing the spot. The incident, which took place on Sunday, was captured on an action camera mounted on her bike.
The woman, who identifies herself as Sia on social media, said she was riding an Aprilia RS 457 with members of her biking group when the car began following them. According to her account, the occupants behaved aggressively and asked her to stop. She alleged that some of the men appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Sia said she asked the occupants to maintain a safe distance but continued riding to prevent the car from coming alongside her. A friend riding behind her also tried to shield her from the vehicle. According to her account, the car continued following her before allegedly attempting to cut in front of her motorcycle. The vehicle then struck the bike, throwing her onto the road, while the motorcycle was dragged for several metres.
After the collision, one of Sia's friends reportedly chased the car and confronted the driver at a traffic signal. The driver allegedly denied responsibility for the crash and then drove away without stopping to assist the biker. Sia later shared footage of the incident online and appealed to Gurugram Police to take action against motorists who put other road users at risk and flee after accidents. She also referred to the vehicle's registration number and the name of its registered owner. The video subsequently went viral on social media, with users tagging Gurugram Police, traffic authorities and Haryana Police and calling for action against the driver. The incident has also renewed concerns over road safety and aggressive driving on Gurugram's roads.
