Kolkata, July 9 -- Sanjiv Goenka, chairman of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, met West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari at Nabanna on Thursday to discuss the state's growth prospects and ways to strengthen its industrial ecosystem by attracting investment, creating jobs and enhancing global competitiveness.
"Bengal has the talent, history, infrastructure and entrepreneurial spirit to once again emerge as one of India's leading growth engines. Realising that potential, however, will require investor confidence and a constructive partnership between the government and industry," the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group said in a statement.
According to Nabanna sources, the two discussed a shared vision for a 'Viksit Bengal'. The Goenka family has remained deeply rooted in Bengal for over 220 years, choosing to invest, build, and create opportunities here through changing economic cycles rather than abandoning the state.
"It was a pleasure meeting the Hon'ble Chief Minister of West Bengal and hearing his visionary plans for the state's development," said Goenka.
Hailing the CM's vision, he said: "His vision for a Viksit Bengal is both inspiring and forward-looking. Equally remarkable is his energy, enthusiasm, and meticulous attention to even the smallest details"
