NEW DELHI, June 8 -- Union Home minister Amit Shah on Monday said that welfare of the poor remains the highest priority of the Narendra Modi-led
government and highlighted the achievements of various flagship schemes over the last 12 years.
Under the Garib Kalyan programmes, access to banking has reached millions, thanks to efforts highlighted by Shah on X.
Financial stability now touches more households, shaped through targeted support mechanisms.
From food aid to housing, each measure contributes differently.
Take PMGKAY: it feeds families during uncertain times. Shelter finds its way into policy via PMAY, altering urban and rural landscapes alike. Banking inclusion rises as accounts emerge under PMJDY, quietly expanding reach. Small enterprises gain ground where credit flows through PMMY.
Even street vendors find footing because of PM SVANidhi's structure. Lives shift when systems align with need, slowly but steadily.
"Garib Kalyan is the topmost priority of the Modi government. In 12 years of Garib Kalyan, the government has connected crores of citizens to banking facilities, financial security and self-employment opportunities through welfare schemes like the Ann Yojana, PM Awas, Jan-Dhan, Mudra Loan and PM SVANidhi," Shah said.
