New Delhi, June 8 -- A 50-year-old woman and three of her family members sustained injuries after being hit by a Delhi Cluster Bus while crossing Rohtak Road near the Multan Nagar red light in West Delhi on Sunday evening.

The police were alerted about the accident through a PCR call received at the Paschim Vihar East Police Station.

According to the police, the incident occurred at around 6 pm when the victims were reportedly crossing the road and were struck by a bus allegedly being driven in a rash and negligent manner.

The bus, operating on Route No. 954 from Rajghat towards Sultanpuri, approached the crossing at high speed and allegedly failed to respect the right of way of pedestrians.

The impact caused Nirmala Devi (50) and her accompanying family members, including two minors, to fall onto the road and suffer injuries. The injured victims were initially rushed to Sri Balaji Hospital for treatment. Nirmala Devi was later shifted to another hospital for further medical care.

The remaining family members, identified as Nisha (23) wife of Arvind and a resident of JJ Colony, Madipur, along with two minor children, sustained minor injuries.

Police said all three were being sent to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital for medical examination and treatment.
