Siliguri, Sept. 4 -- Expired food ingredients, improperly stored raw meat and fish, and unhygienic kitchen conditions were found during a food safety inspection at several restaurants on Sevoke Road in Siliguri on Thursday night.
Officials from the Food Safety Department, accompanied by the administration and municipal workers, conducted inspections at several prominent restaurants in the area. During the drive, multiple expired food ingredients were allegedly found at Rave Up The Restro Bar, following which officials sealed its kitchen.
Inspections were also conducted at The Yellow Chilli, Royal Sartaj, The Dugout, and Goat Elevated Dining and Cocktails Restaurant, where similar irregularities were reportedly detected.
According to officials, raw food items marinated with spices had allegedly been stored in refrigerators for extended periods. Vegetables and other cooking ingredients were also found stored in unhygienic conditions. An expired Food safety license was also found in a restaurant.
