New Delhi, Sept. 26 -- Five fraudsters posing as doctors were removed from the WB Medical Council register over fraudulent registration.
The West Bengal Medical Council has removed five names from its Register of Registered Medical Practitioners following reports from the Bihar Council of Medical Registration, which raised questions over their registration credentials.
According to a notice issued by the WB Medical Council, the names of Sk Unush Hasan, Uttam Maity, Hafijur Halder, Julfikar Mandal and Sk Sayedul Haque were removed from the state medical register. The council described the individuals as "fraudulent persons" in the notice.
The action followed a report received from the Bihar Council of Medical Registration, based on which the WB council took the names off its register.
The notice provides registration details of all five practitioners in both West Bengal and Bihar.
The state medical council issued the notice "for information of all concerned", cautioning that the five names no longer form part of its registered medical practitioners' register.
An official said that the patients should not be duped by these fraudsters.
