New Delhi, Nov. 4 -- Inspector Arun Kumar, who was transferred from the post of Shahdara SHO to the Security Unit following a face-off between Delhi Police personnel and lawyers, has now been posted to the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) branch.
The transfer and posting order, issued by the Delhi Police headquarters on November 4, stated that Kumar, an executive inspector, has been shifted from the Security Unit to IFSO with immediate effect, according to an official order issued on Wednesday.
The IFSO is Delhi Police's cybercrime unit.
Kumar was transferred from Shahdara police station on October 28, along with Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Manasvi Vashistha, following a confrontation between police personnel and lawyers
over the handling of an assault case involving advocate Lalit Bansal.
The transfers triggered protests by around 150 police personnel, including women officers, outside the Delhi Police headquarters on November 2, demanding the reinstatement of the two officers.
The protesting personnel also sought action against lawyers involved in the confrontation and demanded registration of FIRs against those indulging in violence against police personnel.
