India, July 21 -- Delhi University has constituted a six-member committee to examine the feasibility of increasing the admission intake for its One-Year Postgraduate (PG) Programme introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. According to the University, the committee will assess factors including student demand, availability of faculty, classroom infrastructure and other academic resources before making its recommendations. The review is aimed at ensuring that any increase in seats does not compromise the quality of teaching and learning. The One-Year PG Programme, introduced under NEP 2020, is intended primarily for eligible students who have completed a four-year undergraduate degree.
With growing interest in the programme, the University is evaluating whether additional seats can be accommodated in future admission cycles while maintaining academic standards and institutional capacity. University officials have clarified that no decision has been taken to increase the number of seats at present. The six-member committee has only been constituted to study the matter and submit its recommendations. Any proposal to revise the intake will be considered only after the panel's report is reviewed and approved by the competent authorities. Delhi University advised One-Year PG aspirants not to rely on speculation over seat enhancement and urged them to follow only official notifications for updates on intake, eligibility and other admission-related decisions.
