
New Delhi, July 5 -- A 38-year-old motorcyclist was killed after a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus allegedly collided with his motorcycle near GTB Enclave Police Station in northeast Delhi on Sunday afternoon. Police said they received a PCR call about the accident at around 12.05 pm and rushed to the spot, located in front of the police station, where they found the DTC bus and the motorcycle involved in the collision.
The deceased was identified as Sandeep (38), a resident of Pappu Colony in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. He sustained a severe head injury and was declared dead at the scene, police said.
The bus driver was identified, taken into custody and later arrested. Police said legal proceedings have been initiated against him. The body has been shifted to Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Investigators inspected the accident site, collected evidence and seized both the motorcycle and the DTC bus for examination. Police are investigating the sequence of events leading to the collision and whether negligence or violation of traffic rules contributed to the crash.
Officials said they will record the statements of witnesses and examine available CCTV footage from the area to reconstruct the incident. Further investigation
is under way.
