New Delhi, Sept. 2 -- The Delhi Police, in coordination with Assam Police, apprehended 27-year-old Apurba Thakur from Narela for allegedly supplying psychotropic tablets to an interstate narcotics network with suspected links to the banned ULFA(I), an official said on Wednesday.Thakur was wanted in an Assam case registered under the NDPS Act and UAPA. The case began on July 17 after Assam Police recovered 46.11 grams of heroin from a car in Charaideo district and arrested Manuj Gogoi.
Investigation allegedly led to Bhaskar Gogoi, whose phone revealed VoIP communications with Debasish Dahutia and suspected ULFA(I) cadre Mridupawan Dahutia. Police said digital evidence indicated that Thakur was a Delhi-based source supplying psychotropic tablets to the Assam network.
An invoice and 2025 communications with Dahutia were allegedly found on Thakur's phone. A transaction involving lakhs with Boby Gogoi is under scrutiny. Assam Police secured four-day transit remand. Investigators probe possible narco-terror financing. mpost
